Gorjuss Girl for a Gorgeous Girl

My friend Becky's birthday was last week and I haven't got to see her in quite a long time so I wanted to send her a card and some crafty goodies for her birthday. I know that she likes the Gorjuss girls so I purchased a small decoupage kit from Hobbycraft and got to it. I have to admit that this is quite a departure from my usual style, I don't think I have ever decoupaged before, however, I was really pleased with how it came out and I was especially thrilled to hear that she loved it and that's the main pleasure of crafting for me!

Patterned paper - October Afternoon, Basic Grey, Bo Bunny.
Stamp and dies - Wplus9, PTI. Twine - American Crafts. Gems
and decoupage kit - Do Crafts. Rose - Hobbycraft. Washi Tape
American Crafts. Ink - Ranger, Memento.

I was lucky to find all the patterned papers I needed in my scrap drawer, the blue didn't match that well, however a little distressing with some broken china distress ink and I think it goes beautifully. I added some glitter to the hearts and coloured in the white stripes on her tights with a Sakura clear glitter pen, the striped borders were cut from the packaging.

The only problem with this card is the amount of layers, 10 I think! I made a custom envelope with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board (I love, love that thing) and it was all ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by,
Ang.

Lacy Wedding Card

Weddings, *sigh* I think, if I could, I would get remarried to my husband over and over just to be able to wear lots of different dresses and plan beautiful weddings just like the ones I drool over on Pinterest! A lovely colleague a work got married the other weekend and I had inquired on the scheme 'lace, pink and mint', how fortuitous that I love that whole combination!

Patterned paper - MME, Cardstock - American Crafts. Cut files - Silhouette America

Once again my trusty silhouette got a work out, the background is cut using 'Grandma's Tablecloth' and the sentiment is 'Mr & Mrs Love Birds', I simply used the offset feature to make a background mat from the same paper I used on the background. I hope the Bride and Groom liked it!

Here's a colour palette on Pinterest that helped inspire me.

I love this combination, if you missed my previous post, you can see my mint and pink Mother's Day card here.

Thanks for reading,
Ang.
